Registration Registration for the Annual Conference of the CSSE is a two-step process:

Step 1:
You must join or renew your CSSE membership. All authors of accepted presentations must be CSSE members in good standing for the year of the conference. Click here to join or renew your membership in CSSE.

Step 2:
You must register for the Annual Conference which is held under the auspices of the Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities. Each member of CSSE will be mailed a registration package for the Annual Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities which contains a registration form which can be mailed or faxed to the Congress. The Congress web site will allow you to register online.

Critical exploration in critical times
Dr. Eleanor Duckworth, Harvard Graduate School of Education

CSSE is pleased to have Dr. Eleanor Duckworth, Professor of Education, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard University as the plenary speaker at our 2003 annual conference at Dalhousie University. The title of her address will be "Critical exploration in critical times".

A former student and translator of Jean Piaget, Eleanor Duckworth grounds her work in Piaget's theories of the nature and development of intelligence. Her main interest is in teaching and the experience of teachers and learners of all ages both in and out of schools. Dr. Duckworth is a former elementary school teacher and has worked in curriculum development, teacher education, and program evaluation in the United States, Switzerland, Africa, and her native Canada.
