CCGSE/CCÉDÉ Roundtable and Poster Sessions

Every year, CCGSE holds both Roundtable, Poster, and PD Sessions for graduate students
attending the annual meeting of the Canadian Society for Studies in Education (CSSE). The idea of a CCGSE session is to provide graduate students with encouragement and feedback in a collegial and supportive setting outside of our home institutions. Details about how to submit a proposal to the annual conference will be posted on the CSSE webpage in the Fall. You will have the option of submitting your proposal to CCGSE and to one of the academic Associations or SIGS.
Presentations in both the Roundtable and Poster Sessions may include thesis proposals, course papers, drafts of articles, literature or book reviews, thesis chapters, curriculum units, or any other body of work that you would like to discuss with a larger audience. Take advantage of this opportunity to present your work and receive valuable feedback that will expand your thinking.
Roundtable Presentations: These sessions provide an opportunity for graduate students in education to discuss their work with senior professors, to get valuable feedback from a Discussant in your fields, and to build a network of like-minded researchers outside of your own program. This is also an ideal opportunity for students who have never presented a paper at an academic conference to do so in a collegial and supportive setting. If you choose to present a paper in the roundtable format, the CCGSE program committee will provide you with a Discussant in your field of research. It is up to all presenters to provide their Discussants with a final copy of their paper no later than May 1st. Respecting this deadline is one of the ways in which we can show our respect for CSSE and for the generosity of faculty who volunteer to participate in our program.

Poster fair: At the Poster Fair, you are invited to display a summary of your work on a 4’ high x 6’ wide poster backboard. Students must bring their own backboards but tables will be provided by the host university. It is customary to provide either copies of your paper or a summary of your poster at your poster table. The poster fair is an excellent way to engage like-minded researchers and showcase your research.

The Call for CCGSE Roundtable, Poster, and PD Sessions will be made in the Fall.
