CACS Membership Report

Diane Dagenais

I am happy to report that the CACS membership rose from 198 in 1999 to 226 in 2000, an increase of 28 members. However, during that same period, the Francophone membership declined slightly from 20 members in 1999 to 17 members in 2000. As of April 28, 2001, the membership counts for 2001 were not yet finalized but I am hoping that we will see an increase in Francophone membership because the 2001 Social Sciences and Humanities Congress is taking place in Quebec at Laval University and our official communications, including website information and newletters, have been translated into French to reflect the bilingual nature of our association.
